Tea & Empathy cards - a tool for better relationships

Growing up, very few of us are taught how to support each other in times of need, how to make meaningful connections, or are given the detailed language needed to express our emotions.

I made the Tea & Empathy cards to help people explore and share their feelings.

In countries all over the world, thousands of people are using the Tea & Empathy cards to make stronger connections, navigate difficult times, and share joyful moments.

This video was made as part of my successful 2018 Kickstarter campaign and explains more about the cards. A huge thank you to the Kickstarter backers who supported the development of the new beautifully boxed Tea & Empathy cards.

Kate Kenfield is raising funds for Tea & Empathy feelings cards on Kickstarter! A deck of cards to help you name your feelings and improve empathy, communication, and self-care.

Tea & Empathy is one part self-care, one part communication skill-building.

Tea & Empathy are feelings cards that can be used to exchange empathy between partners, with groups of friends, or as a self-care practice. They're designed to help the users feel seen, heard, and understood.

You can also play with them as journal prompts, tools to break writer's block, or a tool for intention-setting for your day.

There are 120 cards, each with one primary feeling and three adjacent feelings printed on them. They’re designed to help expand your emotional vocabulary so you can get that exact word to describe what you’re feeling.

Empathy is a communication superpower that makes every relationship in life easier and more awesome.

When we can be present with others’ emotions – without immediately offering unsolicited advice – it transforms relationships. Professional and personal relationships benefit tremendously from improved empathy skills.

Empathy can also be the antidote to burnout. We often feel overwhelmed when we don’t feel seen, heard, and understood about the challenges we face. Wellbeing, creativity, and harmonious relationships thrive when empathy is present in friendships, families, and workplaces.
